WHAT IS
ROOTING ?
Starting
your android experience with a new phone we only know some of the basic things
like installing apps , changing themes and playing games, now talking about HD
games, space on internal storage comes in any phone would be around 2.5 gb free
like in canvas 2 a110, games like gta san andreas, modern combat, nfs
most wanted needs atleast 2 gb of space to run the game, now how we are
supposed to install 4 to 5 games, so for that we need to root our phone so that
we can move our game data on sd card. What is rooting and what exactly it does
lets read about it.
Rooting advantages : There are lots of apps available on playstore to install but we cant move all the apps and games on internal storage because of the low storage and we cant move some system apps to sd card. After rooting the best thing is that you can move all the apps and games data to sd card and you can flash several new roms and make your phone’s performance best and some of the apps need root access to run so this is the best easy way to try.
Rooting disadvantages : By rooting your phone you get the system to explore in which you can edit and make some changes which is risk if you made a small mistake which will take your phone in boot loop and there are chances of bricking your phone and the second thing is that rooting voids warranty. Lets talk about what exactly rooting means
Rooting gives you access to system for editing system files resulting in the ability to alter or replace system applications and settings, run specialized apps that requires administrator-level permissions. Rooting will void your phone's warranty but not to worry there is also a easy way to unroot your phone.
WHAT IS
ROM ?
Rom is a complete system image of a device. A Rom image is data file that contains information used on a read only memory chip including system setting, framework, etc given by phone's manufacturer which is called stock Rom. Each android device has its own stock Rom image that contains files and code needed to boot the device up.
Now you may wanna know what are custom roms. Basically our phone bundles with a stock rom android 4.0.4 ice cream sandwich. Lots of latest apps are coming for new versions like jellybean and features of 4.2 roms are also quite awesome so some developers are porting 4.1, 4.2 roms with tweaks and performance, so some of the custom roms are much better comparing to stock roms. What exactly custom rom means lets just read about it.

As we now
understand what is Rom. Now One can edit and make several changes in a Rom by
porting a Rom from another device or by customizing a stock Rom by editing its
ui , themes , framework , settings , system apps etc.
WHAT IS
KERNEL ?
Developers
are also concentrating creating best working kernel for overall a great
experience on canvas 2 so lets read about what is kernel as well.
Kernel is
a interface layer between the hardware and the software on your device.
Software sends the command to the hardware and it sends a request to kernel and
the kernel decides how to react on example: touch, open, launch, brightness etc
everything.
WHAT IS
FIRMWARE ?
Firmware
may sound similar to ROMS but its not. Think Rom as a system folder and
Firmware is your phone's folder for an example. Firmware comes with all the
different hardware capabilities in which operating system runs. Lets say your
phone supports gingerbread or honeycomb version. So the firmware version can be
various in all different phones.
WHAT IS FLASHING
?
Learning
Flashing is quite handy when you already know all the other stuff, if incase
while rooting or installing custom roms phone doesn’t boot up or you feel like
performance is not good, you want to revert back to old rom or flash stock rom
again so this is also very important thing one should learn. So here is the
short description of what exactly is flashing.
Flashing
simply means installing operating system on your device same like windows on
PC. Flashing will install your complete Os with Rom or flashing can be done for
updates. Lets just say i am flashing a new Rom on my device.
If you have any questions please comment below
If i flash the stock rom v1 then i get my kernel back or not...... Please tell. Me soon
